Community Swim makes a Splash

On a cold winter’s morning, 50 odd swimmers kicked off a grueling 11km swim from Mudjimba Beach to Mooloolaba Beach in the annual Island Charity Swim.

Proudly sponsored by Dove Personnel, and made up in part of the Dove team, swim team “Shark Bait” rose to the challenge and completed the relay swim in a time of 3 hours 20 minutes.

Raising money for Nambour and Currimundi Special Schools, each team and individual swimmer must raise a set entry fee to participate in this fantastic event that brings the community together every August.

Although weather conditions brought freezing wind and rough seas, the swimmers battled through and with a combination of the amazing support and appreciative faces at the finish line, the event was well worth it. See you there next year!
