Walk for Leukemia at Lake Kawana

After work on a busy Wednesday, Kirsty Goldfinch from the Dove Personnel team headed to the shores of Lake Kawana with her family to attend the Queensland wide October 5th “Light the Night 2011”.

The shores of Lake Kawana lit up as the sun set, with a sea of tri coloured lanterns as people from all walks of life gathered to stroll a 5km track around the lake to remember the lost, celebrate the survivors and support the victims of Leukemia. 

Kirsty, walking with a gold lantern to remember a lost loved one, was moved by the show of community support and the poignant atmosphere. “It was really heart warming to see the community supporting such a worthwhile cause. I would recommend any family, workplace or individual to take part, it was a great time and a fun walk– it’s the small things that make a big difference”.

Kirsty has definitely motivated the rest of the team to participate next year in this great community event; it truly is the smallest efforts that can have the greatest impact.
